Robi called her song “Plamenna” – Bulgarian for fiery. Living up to that name took everything we had.
It started with a concept that refused to be small. A serenade under a barn balcony at golden hour. A full choreographed dance sequence with light cutting through wooden slats. A toreador scene on a sand arena with live horses. One location, one day, fifteen people, zero compromises.
Finding the right place took time. El Paso – a real working horse ranch outside Sofia – had the rawness the concept needed. Weathered wood, open fields, mountain backdrop. Once the location was locked, everything else had to be built around it. Crew, talent, styling, choreography, catering, transport, equipment – each piece had to land in the right place at the right time.
Then the day arrived. So did the wind. And the rain. The kind that makes you question every decision you made in the weeks before. We kept going.
Fifteen people moving between five locations on a single ranch, chasing the light, working around a horse, and finding the frame every single time. By the time golden hour hit and Robi stood below that balcony, it felt earned.
That’s the job.
